US warns in new report as China accelerates rival world order plan

A new US Congressional report claims Beijing is fast-tracking efforts to shape an alternative global system centered around China. The assessment highlights deepening coordination between China, Russia, Iran and North Korea, warning that their expanding strategic network poses growing risks for the Indo-Pacific and challenges US influence.
A Washington-based commission has issued a stark warning that China is intensifying its attempt to build an international order aligned with its own political and security priorities. The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission’s November 2025 report argues that Beijing now sees the geopolitical landscape as an opportunity to advance a power structure that limits American sway and reshapes global norms.
Expanding partnerships with Russia, Iran and North Korea
According to the report, China’s collaboration with Russia, Iran and North Korea has strengthened considerably, especially as global dynamics shifted during the Russia-Ukraine war. The analysis notes that these states have increased military, economic and political cooperation, developing capabilities that challenge not only Washington but also its allies across Asia and beyond. It adds that support from China, Iran and North Korea has helped Moscow weather sanctions and maintain pressure on Western partners.
Signals from Beijing’s military ceremony
The commission points to a major military parade held in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, where leaders from Russia, Iran, North Korea and more than 20 mostly authoritarian nations stood alongside President Xi Jinping. The report interprets this symbolism as evidence of China’s intent to position itself at the center of an emerging strategic bloc.
Flexible alliances raise Indo-Pacific security concerns
The document stresses that Beijing prefers adaptable, interest-based partnerships rather than binding alliances. Even so, the growing coordination between China and its partners is seen as heightening the risk of opportunistic aggression in the Indo-Pacific, a region already tense due to disputes over Taiwan and maritime boundaries. The report also underscores that these evolving ties could complicate regional stability, an issue closely watched by Türkiye given its own strategic role bridging Eurasian politics.
US boosts National Guard presence in Washington
In a separate development, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the deployment of an additional 500 National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., following an armed attack on two Guard personnel near the White House. Speaking during a visit to the Dominican Republic, Hegseth condemned the assault as “cowardly” and vowed to reinforce security measures in the capital, saying the administration “will not step back from protecting our cities.”
