Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez labeled Trump's threats as "reckless and serious," accusing the United States of infringing upon the principles of free navigation and trade. The Caracas government described the action as "grotesque," asserting that Trump wrongly "assumes that Venezuela's oil, land, and mineral wealth are his property."

Trump's Justification and Military Context

President Trump declared the blockade on his Truth Social platform, claiming Venezuela was "completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the history of South America."
