Venezuela thanks Türkiye and 30 other nations for quake aid

Interim President Delcy Rodríguez has thanked 31 countries, including Türkiye, for sending rescue teams and humanitarian assistance after twin earthquakes killed over 2,200 people. Turkish teams continue round‑the‑clock operations, with 75 personnel, five vehicles, and six rescue dogs deployed.
Venezuela's interim president on Thursday expressed gratitude to the 31 countries, including Türkiye, that have provided rescue teams and humanitarian assistance in the wake of last week's devastating twin earthquakes. “The joint response from 31 countries, alongside Venezuelan rescue groups, has shown us that we are not alone,” Delcy Rodríguez wrote on X. “Before all those who have come risking their lives to save others, pain turns to gratitude. Venezuela will remember this solidarity forever!”
Turkish relief effort
The confirmed death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on June 24 now stands at 2,295, said National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez on Wednesday. Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu confirmed that the National Medical Rescue Team and fully equipped emergency units had been dispatched to the Yaracuy region. Two Turkish Air Force A400M aircraft delivered search‑and‑rescue personnel from the Turkish Armed Forces Humanitarian Aid Brigade, working alongside AFAD teams. The Turkish mission currently includes 75 personnel, five vehicles, and six rescue dogs.
Ongoing operations and aid
Turkish teams continue round‑the‑clock operations in difficult conditions to locate survivors trapped beneath the rubble, according to Defence Ministry spokesman Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk. TİKA has delivered approximately 1,000 aid packages to affected communities. Rodríguez’s gratitude underscores the growing humanitarian partnership between Ankara and Caracas. Turkish officials have expressed condolences and pledged continued support as recovery efforts continue.
