As tens of thousands of people take part in Black Lives Matter demonstrations across the world over the killing of George Floyd, the U.S. state of North Carolina played host to the most interesting form of protest witnessed yet.
White cops and demonstrators washed the feet of black protesters to show their solidarity against racism and police brutality.
The event was reportedly organized by ex-priest Faith Wokom; because according to the Christian belief, foot-washing represents love and humility.
Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American, was filmed gasping for air and pleading for breath as now-fired police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
The incident occurred in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25 as Floyd was being arrested after reportedly attempting to use a counterfeit $20 bill at a local store.
Floyd was killed by "asphyxiation from sustained pressure," an independent autopsy concluded.
His death has sparked protests across the US and the world.
