Famous Turkish actor Haldun Dormen on Sunday praised the rise of Turkish theater.

The 91-year-old actor and filmmaker said: "Turkish theater is experiencing the most brilliant period of recent times.

"There is a great interest in musicals, especially in Istanbul. Over 250 plays are staged in theaters of Istanbul every evening," he added.
