Resolution process will be the main agenda: Arinc
Deputy PM Bulent Arinc says the main agenda of new government will be the resolution process under the direct responsibility of Prime Minister Davutoglu
The resolution process and the struggle with the parallel structure will be the main agenda of the new government of Turkey, Deputy PM Bulent Arinc said in a press conference following the cabinet meeting on Monday.
''The project, we can call as resolution process, or national unity or brotherhood project and the struggle with the non-legal formations in the state will be the priority issues for all of our ministers,'' Arinc said.
Turkish government has started a peace process to conclude the decades-old Kurdish problem and state officials are regularly holding meetings with the parties of the process.
Arinc said it is not true to show only one minister as being responsible for this type of great issue, though he will be the responsible minister from the resolution process.
''However, our prime minister is the only person who has the direct authority and responsibility on the issue.''
He said that a special secretariat will be established and some of the ministers will be members of the secretariat. ''The prime minister will supervise the work of the ministers and the secretariat,'' Arinc added.
The Supreme Council on Counter Terrorism and the related institutions will not only work on outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, any more, because there are some new threat components, new terrorist groups. The activities of the supreme council will center on all national or international organizations who threaten Turkey.
