US President Donald Trump to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday

Pro-Palestinian groups gathered Sunday outside the White House in Washington, DC to protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit.

President Donald Trump will meet on Monday with Netanyahu, who is on his third visit to the US within six months.

Waving Palestinian flags, the protesters chanted “Free, free Palestine.”

They also held signs saying "Stop Arming Israel," "Long Live Palestine" and "Wanted Netanyahu.”

A group of protesters, including from the organization American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), will hold a news conference Monday to condemn Netanyahu's visit to the capital.

They will also demand an end to US support to Israel's ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier Sunday, Trump told reporters that there was a "good chance" a Gaza hostage release and ceasefire deal could be reached with the Palestinian group Hamas this week.

Asked about his message to Netanyahu on Monday, he said: "We're working on a lot of things with Israel, and one of the things is probably a permanent deal with Iran."

During his visit to the capital, Netanyahu is also expected to meet with senior officials of the US administration and senior members of Congress from both parties.

The Israeli army, despite international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a genocidal war on Gaza, killing more than 57,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, since October 2023.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
