NATO summit and Trump visit
The working dinner precedes the 36th NATO leaders summit, which convenes Tuesday and Wednesday in the Turkish capital with the inaugural Defense Industry Forum on the agenda. US President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend the gathering and hold official talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with bilateral defense cooperation and procurement issues expected to dominate their discussions.
Second summit on Turkish soil
Türkiye last hosted alliance leaders in Istanbul in 2004, marking this week's event as only the second NATO summit held on Turkish soil. The Ankara meeting will assemble dozens of heads of state and government from the 32-member alliance, according to alliance officials.
