Israeli fire kills six Gazans as death toll tops 73,000

The Health Ministry in Gaza said on Monday that six Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll since October 2023 to more than 73,000 as the Israeli military continues to violate the fragile ceasefire agreement.
Gaza's Health Ministry announced on Monday that Israeli attacks killed six Palestinians in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 73,003. Six others were injured in the same period, raising the cumulative number of wounded to 173,252 since the war began nearly three years ago.
Truce violations
The Israeli military has persisted in breaching the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, despite international calls for restraint. According to the ministry, at least 992 people have been killed and 3,144 wounded since the truce began, adding to the mounting civilian toll.
Devastation scale
The ceasefire was secured after two years of conflict that started on October 8, 2023. The offensive has reduced approximately 90 percent of civilian infrastructure to rubble across the territory.
Reconstruction costs
The United Nations has estimated that rebuilding Gaza will require around $70 billion. The scale of destruction marks one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the region's recent history.
