Alliance between Russia, China, Iran, North Korea represents global threat: Czech intelligence

The alliance between Russia, China, Iran and North Korea represents a global threat, the chief of Czech intelligence said.

Speaking at a conference on Monday, the head of the country's Counter Intelligence Service (CIS), Michael Koudelka, said Russia is being provided ammunition and troops by North Korea, drones by Iran and technology by China in its war against Ukraine, according to public broadcaster Radio Prague.

It is dangerous to underestimate these coordinated efforts of the alliance, he warned.

Also speaking at the conference, the government's strategic communication director, Otakar Foltyn, agreed with Koudelka's comments and added that Russia is working hard to break down Europe's unity by following a selected strategy in each specific country.

By doing so, the Kremlin aims to isolate states and play down the threat that its expansionist policy presents, he said.

In June, Pyongyang and Moscow signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement that requires extending military aid to each other in case of aggression from a third country.

The agreement was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to North Korea.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia last year, with two sides reportedly extending help to each other as Moscow's war on Ukraine has surpassed 1,000 days.
