Colombia's Foreign Ministry on Friday publicly thanked Türkiye for dispatching humanitarian assistance to support communities affected by a recent earthquake, confirming the arrival of a shipment containing food, medicine, and relief supplies. The ministry acknowledged the delivery in a statement published on X, saying the assistance had reached the South American nation to help those impacted by the tremor. "We received the humanitarian aid sent by Türkiye to support the communities affected by the earthquake," the ministry said.
Tons of food and medicine delivered
The consignment included more than one metric ton of foodstuffs alongside over 900 blankets and 450 kilograms of medical supplies, according to the official announcement. "We thank the government and people of Türkiye for their support and commitment to Colombia," the ministry stated, emphasizing the importance of international partnership during the recovery period.
International partners mobilize
Officials noted that relief efforts from overseas partners remain ongoing as the country addresses the aftermath of the seismic event. "Cooperation from our international partners continues to arrive in our country," the ministry added, without specifying the exact date of the tremor or the total scale of international assistance deployed.
