Landslides in Indonesia's Central Java province have claimed 30 lives with 21 people still missing as rescue operations continue. Meanwhile, severe flooding in southern Thailand has affected nearly 45,000 residents across seven districts that have been declared emergency disaster zones.

The death toll from devastating landslides in Central Java, Indonesia has risen to 30 confirmed fatalities, with search and rescue teams continuing operations to locate 21 individuals still missing. The natural disasters struck two separate regions of the province, burying homes and necessitating large-scale emergency response efforts involving heavy equipment and specialized rescue teams.

Rescue Operations in Banjarnegara

In Pandanarum village within Banjarnegara regency, rescue teams have confirmed 10 fatalities while continuing to search for 18 missing people following landslides that occurred on November 15. According to local media reports, search operations are being conducted manually and with the assistance of sniffer dogs, while 17 pieces of heavy excavation equipment work to clear soil that buried numerous houses in the affected area.

Cilacap Regency Casualties

The Majenang district of Cilacap regency has suffered the heaviest losses, with rescue teams recovering 20 bodies from landslide debris. Three individuals remain unaccounted for in this region following last week's disaster. National Search and Rescue Agency Chief Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii pledged that "we are making every effort to find the three victims who are still being searched for," indicating ongoing commitment to the rescue mission.

Thailand Flooding Emergency

Separately, severe monsoon flooding has impacted southern Thailand's Songkhla province, affecting 44,958 people across 159 villages and approximately 17,000 households. While no fatalities or injuries have been reported from the Thai flooding, the scale of the disaster has prompted authorities to declare seven districts as emergency disaster zones to facilitate coordinated relief efforts and resource allocation.
