Israeli army enters southern Lebanese town, detonates building in latest ceasefire violation

Israeli forces enter Houla, day after attacking Shebaa with photoflash bombs, gunfire

The Israeli army entered the southern borders of Lebanon and blew up a building in the latest ceasefire violation, state news agency NNA reported.

The Israeli forces entered the town of Houla, Nabatieh governorate, and detonated a building.

The Israeli army also dropped photoflash bombs on the southern town of Shebaa Sunday night and opened fire in the outskirts.

A ceasefire was reached in November 2024, following an exchange of cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israel since October 2023. The exchange escalated into a full-scale Israeli war by September 2024, killing more than 4,000 people and injuring around 17,000.

Under the truce, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January, but it only partially pulled out troops and maintains a military presence at five border outposts.
