President Donald Trump signaled Thursday that further strikes on critical infrastructure in Iran could be imminent, writing on Truth Social that US forces "hasn't even started destroying what's left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants!" The threat comes as the US-Israeli offensive enters its fifth week.

US President Donald Trump signaled Thursday that further strikes on critical infrastructure in Iran could be imminent. "Our Military, the greatest and most powerful (by far!) anywhere in the World, hasn't even started destroying what's left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants! New Regime leadership knows what has to be done, and has to be done, fast!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Escalation warning

His remarks came a day after his address to the nation on Operation Epic Fury, which began on Feb. 28. "We're going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Age, where they belong," he said. The comments represent a significant escalation in rhetoric, expanding potential targets beyond military and energy infrastructure to include bridges and power plants.

Conflict context

The US and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing over 1,340 people according to Iranian authorities, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and more than 150 schoolgirls. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. The conflict has expanded to Lebanon, where over 1,300 have been killed since March 2.

Infrastructure under threat

Iran has reported power outages in Tehran and Alborz following previous strikes on electricity infrastructure. Iranian officials have said the power grid has been stabilized, but further strikes on power plants and bridges could cause widespread disruption to civilian life.
