Trump’s Jerusalem decision is ‘a declaration of war,’ says Iraqi princess

The granddaughter of Iraq’s first king says that the issue of Jerusalem does not concern Jerusalem alone
Princess Dr. Nisreen Bint Prince Mohammed Bin King Faisal (I) Bin El-Sharif Hussein El-Hashemite, the granddaughter of Iraq’s first king, denounced U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, calling it a “declaration of war.”
Stating that Trump “massacred peace with his declaration,” the princess urged Saudi Arabia to “disclose the secret meetings held with Israel.”
Speaking to Turkish publication Gerçek Hayat, Princess Nisreen, who is the first Royal Princess in the world to be qualified in science and medicine, said she was very disappointed due to Trump’s Jerusalem decision and that she barely slept on the night he made the announcement. She also noted that she wears black because she is in mourning.
On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the U.S.’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s “undivided” capital and said the U.S. Embassy would relocate from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The dramatic shift in Washington’s Jerusalem policy triggered demonstrations in the occupied Palestinian territories, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq and other Muslim countries.
Princess Nisreen stated that Trump does not have the authority to declare Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
“Trump massacred peace with his declaration. Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of Resurrection are located side-by-side in Jerusalem; you cannot separate them. The issue of Jerusalem does not concern Jerusalem alone. It concerns the entire Muslim world and the Arabs,” she said.
“Our Prophet Muhammad and Prophet Isa were also there. It is a land that belongs to Allah. We cannot protect Jerusalem anymore, therefore Allah will protect Jerusalem. Just as Abdul Muttalib, the grandfather our Prophet, said ‘The Kaaba has God to protect it,’ we say that ‘Allah will protect Jerusalem.’”
Pointing to a new occupation taking place in the Middle East, the Iraqi Princess said: “What are the U.S. and the U.K. doing there? The same thing is happening in Iraq and Syria. This is a new colonial project, a new occupation project.”
She said that she expected Turkey to have a firm stance and good command of the issue and that the people of the Arab countries would take to the streets which will hopefully encourage Arab administrators to take action.
Princess Nisreen also said that Saudi Arabia should disclose the secret deals they make with Israel.
An Israeli cabinet minister on Nov. 19 said that Israel has had covert contacts with Saudi Arabia amid common concerns over Iran, a first disclosure by a senior official from either country of long-rumored secret dealings.
“Do the administrators in Saudi Arabia have no shame of the sacred sites, Mecca and Medina which they administer,” she questioned.
The princess also urged Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to respect the martyrs of the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and the uniform he wears, and to take action.
“Egypt should take action for Palestinian territory. May God help the Egyptian administrators find the true path,” she said.
