Iranian authorities said Wednesday that US missile strikes killed seven people including four members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force in western Kermanshah and three Basij paramilitaries on Lavan Island in the south, as Washington’s air campaign against Iranian targets expanded with fresh reports of civilian casualties in Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces.

Four members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force were killed in a US strike in western Kermanshah province, the provincial IRGC branch announced Wednesday, as part of a broader assault that claimed seven lives across western and southern Iran.

Elite force casualties in west

The provincial IRGC identified four Aerospace Force personnel killed in the attack on Kermanshah, a western province bordering Iraq. Authorities have not released specific details regarding the strike’s timing or precise location within the province.

Paramilitary deaths on Lavan Island

Three Basij paramilitaries died in an overnight US strike on Lavan Island in the southern Hormozgan province, according to provincial officials and Iranian media reports. Abdolkarim Pouladifar, deputy commander of the IRGC’s Seyyed al-Shohada unit in Deyr county, identified the slain as Mahdi Bahrani, Hossein Salehnejad, and Hassan Momeni, adding that several other personnel from the county sustained injuries in the bombardment.

Lavan Island sits in the Persian Gulf off Iran’s southern coast and hosts critical oil and energy infrastructure. The facility has drawn repeated attention from US military planners as part of broader targeting of Tehran’s strategic assets.

Civilian toll in southern provinces

The military fatalities came alongside strikes that killed seven civilians and wounded eight others in the southern province of Khuzestan on Tuesday, Iranian authorities said. In a separate incident the same day, a US missile hit a wedding ceremony in Sirik, Hormozgan province, killing four people including a 4-year-old child and injuring 68 others, according to the same sources.
