Israeli forces kill Palestinian, detonate home, and detain 10 in West Bank raids

One Palestinian was killed and several others were injured as Israeli military forces conducted a series of raids in the occupied West Bank. The operations included the demolition of a residential apartment in Tubas and the detention of at least ten Palestinians. In separate incidents, illegal Israeli settlers attacked farmers and burned vehicles.
Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank resulted in casualties and multiple arrests on Sunday. According to Palestinian medical sources, a 42-year-old man was killed by Israeli fire in the Al-Ain refugee camp, located in the city of Nablus. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed that two other individuals sustained injuries in the same camp during the confrontations.
Raids and home demolition
The official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, reported that Israeli forces raided the Al-Ain camp, surrounding a house amid heavy gunfire. In a separate operation in the northern city of Tubas, troops detonated a residential apartment. This raid followed a similar incursion the previous day, where Israeli forces had closed the city's southern entrance and conducted bulldozing operations in the center of Tubas.
Widespread detentions across cities
The Israeli army detained at least ten Palestinians during the widespread raids. Six of the arrests took place in Nablus following home invasions. In the northern city of Salfit, four people, including parliamentarian and academic Omar Abd al-Razaq, were taken into Israeli custody. A local official from the Palestinian Prisoner Society in Tubas also stated that several residents were held for field interrogations.
Settler violence against civilians
Concurrently, illegal Israeli settlers, under army protection, assaulted Palestinian farmers harvesting olives in the Ramallah and Nablus areas. Witnesses reported that the settlers burned two vehicles. Data from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission highlights a pattern of violence, recording thousands of settler assaults over two years.
Broader context of West Bank violence
The recent incidents occur within a broader context of escalating violence in the West Bank. Local authorities report that since the Gaza war began two years ago, over 1,051 Palestinians have been killed, approximately 10,300 wounded, and more than 20,000 arrested in the territory. This surge in violence follows the International Court of Justice's opinion last July, which declared Israel's occupation illegal and called for the evacuation of all West Bank and East Jerusalem settlements.
