Türkiye enters NATO defense market with ADVENT system delivery

HAVELSAN has delivered Türkiye's ADVENT Combat Management System to Romania alongside the CAm.ROMAN corvette, marking the first entry of the Turkish-developed naval command solution into a NATO ally's inventory following previous exports to Pakistan, Indonesia and Ukraine.
Turkish defense electronics firm HAVELSAN has delivered its ADVENT Combat Management System to Romania alongside the CAm.ROMAN corvette, marking the first time the Turkish-developed naval command-and-control solution has entered the inventory of a NATO member state. The company achieved the export through the sale of the vessel, with the system delivered for use by the Romanian Naval Forces under the bilateral agreement.
The export to Bucharest represents ADVENT's inaugural deployment within the alliance after previous deliveries to navies in Pakistan, Indonesia, Ukraine, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Malaysia and Chile. HAVELSAN said the version supplied to Romania has been adapted from the system currently operational with the Turkish Navy to meet specific operational requirements, adding that its modular architecture enables tailoring for diverse customer needs and mission profiles.
System capabilities and integration
Developed in close coordination with the Turkish Naval Forces Command, ADVENT was designed with a force-oriented approach that links multiple platforms through a shared operational picture rather than focusing on single-vessel management. The system integrates operational functions including threat assessment, decision support, target detection, and weapons and sensor control, while its ADVENT ROTA mission management component extends these capabilities to unmanned naval platforms. It offers interoperability with allied forces through various protocols and can be installed on platforms ranging from small boats and major surface combatants to land-based command centers.
AI development and NATO expansion
HAVELSAN continues to advance the platform through its "ADVENT AI" version, which incorporates artificial intelligence capabilities, while preparing to offer different configurations to additional countries. The delivery to Romania also established export channels for other domestically developed defense systems, including the YELKOVAN Electronic Warfare System created jointly with TUBITAK and the TARGAN 12.7 mm automatic stabilized weapon system developed with UNIROBOTICS. The ADVENT platform is expected to attract significant attention during the Ankara summit, which Türkiye will host on Monday and Tuesday to showcase national defense industry capabilities.
