Iran says US ceasefire violations undermining diplomacy

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Wednesday that Washington's contradictory messages and repeated ceasefire violations are undermining the diplomatic process aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict, adding that Tehran will carefully review the conditions for any future negotiations in light of overnight developments.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Wednesday that repeated US ceasefire violations and contradictory diplomatic messaging are undermining efforts to advance negotiations. "Diplomatic processes do not take place in a vacuum," Baghaei told reporters, noting that sustainable talks require minimum conducive conditions to move forward. He stated that Washington's shifting demands and frequent changes in position have created an environment hostile to meaningful dialogue.
Baghaei directly accused the United States of harming the diplomatic process through what he described as contradictory messages and repeated truce breaches. "Unfortunately, the United States, through the contradictory messages it sends, the repeated changes in its positions and demands, and, worst of all, repeated violations of the ceasefire, is harming the diplomatic process," he said. The spokesperson said such actions fundamentally undermine the trust necessary for any successful negotiation.
Regional violations cited
The Iranian official also accused Israel of undermining diplomatic efforts through repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon. "Any diplomatic process is harmed by the use of force and unlawful actions," Baghaei added, linking the regional military activities to the broader breakdown in diplomatic channels. He did not provide specific details regarding the alleged violations but framed them as part of a pattern of destabilizing behavior.
Baghaei said Tehran would review the conditions surrounding future negotiations in light of developments overnight, though he declined to elaborate further on the specific factors under consideration. The statement comes amid ongoing regional tensions and efforts to maintain fragile ceasefire agreements across multiple fronts, according to diplomatic sources.
