Israeli attacks kill 3 more Gazans, death toll nears 73,000

Three Palestinians were killed and five injured by Israeli fire in Gaza over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll since October 2023 to 72,991, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The casualties occurred despite a ceasefire that took effect in October 2025, with daily truce violations continuing.
Israeli attacks have killed three more Palestinians in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 72,991, Gaza’s Health Ministry announced on Wednesday. The ministry also reported that five other people were injured by Israeli fire. The casualties came as the Israeli army continued its daily military operations despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 2025. Since the truce began, violations have killed 981 people and injured 3,104 others, according to the ministry.
Ceasefire violations and destruction
The October 2025 ceasefire was reached after two years of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which also destroyed approximately 90% of the strip’s civilian infrastructure. Despite the agreement, Israeli forces have continued airstrikes, artillery shelling, and ground incursions, particularly in the northern and central areas of the strip. Palestinians have accused Israel of using the ceasefire to advance settlement plans and impose a buffer zone.
