Medical sources said Israeli drone strikes killed one Palestinian and wounded several others across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, marking fresh violations of a ceasefire agreement that took effect on Oct. 10 as international mediators continued intensive efforts to complete its full implementation and secure a lasting peace in the Palestinian enclave.
Attacks target displacement camps
Palestinian medical officials said Israeli drone strikes killed one person and wounded six others in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis on Sunday. The attack struck a tent sheltering displaced people near Al-Aqsa University.
In central Gaza, several Palestinians were injured when an Israeli strike targeted the roof of a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to medical sources. A child was also shot and injured by an Israeli quadcopter drone east of the Bureij refugee camp, the sources added.
Ceasefire under strain
The attacks came as mediators continued efforts to complete implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached on Oct. 10, 2025, amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure a lasting peace. Despite the truce, the Israeli army has continued operations across the Palestinian enclave.
Gaza's Health Ministry said at least 1,262 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,100 others injured since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10. The ministry noted that these figures include victims of targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure and shelter centers.
War toll since October 2023
The Israeli army launched a major offensive in the Gaza Strip in October 2023 that has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 174,000 others, according to the Health Ministry. The war began following a cross-border attack by Palestinian groups on Oct. 7, 2023.
