1,200 police launch operation in Bursa to ensure order

Dozens of people detained in operation in Turkish city located in northwestern Anatolia
Fifty suspects were detained in an operation in Bursa province in which police officers searched for smuggled items and recovered weapons caches, contraband cigarettes and drugs.
The city-wide operation deployed 1,200 police officers. A total of 5,525 people were subjected to a Police Information Check (GBT). Of this number, 50 were detained by the police for several crimes.
Police also questioned 521 drivers for alleged traffic violations. Twenty-three of 521 drivers were fined more than 8,000 liras in total. Also, 13 drivers were banned from driving for several reasons.
Police seized several precision scales, 3 drug-use devices, 94 grams of cannabis, a quantity of methamphetamine, 11 guns, a number of cartridges belonged to these guns and three blades during the search of the business locations.
