The soldiers die on the spot when PKK terrorists open fire on them when leaving for their post
Two soldiers were killed on Thursday morning in a PKK attack in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
An initial report said the soldiers were shot to death outside their houses in the province's Silvan town. They came under fire when they were about to travel to their post in the same military vehicle, said the report.
It is still unclear how many PKK terrorists have been involved in Thursday's attack. The slain soldiers have been identified as specialist sergeants Tolga Topçuoğlu, 26 , and Sinan Uçan, 31.
Their bodies were taken to the morgue at the state hospital in Silvan. They are expected to be sent to the military hospital in Diyarbakır later on in the day.
Several armored police vehicles were sent to the scene after the terrorist attack. Police launched a security operation to seize the PKK terrorists, who are still on the run.
