A replica of the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam, was removed from Karbala, after Iraqi Shiites, who make up the majority of the city, started circumambulating the effigy, sparking a furious reaction by Muslims around the world on social media. Upon the reactions, the complex, where the Imam Huseyin Tomb is located, decided to remove the effigy and stated that they had not commissioned it.
