Hamas says Israel has killed 271 Palestinians since Gaza ceasefire

Hamas has accused Israel of killing 271 Palestinians since the Gaza ceasefire took effect last month, including 107 children and 39 women. The Palestinian group claims it has fully complied with the agreement while Israel continues systematic attacks and border closures.
Hamas has formally accused Israel of killing 271 Palestinians since the Gaza ceasefire agreement came into force last month, asserting that the Palestinian group has fully complied with the truce terms despite repeated Israeli violations. In an official statement released Monday, Hamas detailed what it characterized as systematic Israeli attacks that have continued despite the October 10 ceasefire that was intended to halt hostilities in the besieged coastal territory.
Civilian Casualty Figures
According to Hamas documentation, the 271 Palestinians killed since the ceasefire took effect include 107 children, 39 women, and 9 elderly individuals, with an additional 622 people injured by Israeli military actions. The group stated these casualties demonstrate "the retaliatory and systematic nature of the (Israeli) occupation's attacks" despite the ongoing truce arrangement. Hamas also reported that Israeli forces have detained 35 Palestinians since the ceasefire began, with 29 remaining in custody, including fishermen and civilians.
Ceasefire Compliance Claims
Hamas maintained it has "fully and faithfully" adhered to the ceasefire terms, having transferred "20 Israeli captives alive and the remains of 24 others out of 28 under the deal despite widespread destruction, lack of equipment, and the martyrdom of several resistance fighters." The group emphasized its compliance despite operational challenges within the devastated Gaza environment, where infrastructure has been extensively damaged during the conflict.
Humanitarian Access Issues
The Palestinian organization further accused Israel of violating ceasefire provisions by keeping the Zikim crossing closed, blocking a primary aid route from Jordan, and restricting entry of essential supplies and equipment needed for clearing rubble. Hamas also noted the continued closure of the Rafah crossing with Egypt in both directions, despite commitments to reopen it under the agreement, significantly worsening humanitarian conditions for Gaza's 2.3 million residents.
