Qaradawi blasts Interpol's Egypt policy
The Qatar-based sheikh is under fire in Cairo for his criticism of the ouster of Egypt's first freely elected president Morsi by the military

The Qatar-based cleric, who Interpol issued a red bulletin for three days ago, criticizes the international police organization for appeasing Egypt, stating he never incited any killing

Yousuf Al-Qaradawi, the head of International Union for Muslim Scholars, denounced the International Criminal Police Organization, or INTERPOL, for issuing a high-level alert to arrest him in a response to Egyptian judicial authorities.

The Egypt-born cleric said in a statement that he never killed anyone or incited anyone to kill in order to be placed on Interpol's "wanted" list. "There are those who killed thousands of innocent people at Republican Guard headquarters in Cairo and at Rabaa and Nahda squares without any consideration for justice or law," al-Qaradawi said, referring to the certain spots in Cairo's Giza district, which saw hundreds of opposition demonstrators killed in 2013’s pro-Morsi demonstrations.

The 88-year old has been under fire in his hometown for his vocal criticism of the ouster of Egypt's first freely elected president Morsi by the military.

Interpol has previously issued red alerts for a number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders at the request of the Egyptian authorities.

Al-Qaradawi, who has close links with the Muslim Brotherhood, is wanted for prosecution on charges of incitement and assistance to committing premeditated murder, facilitating a prison escape, as well as involvement in arson, vandalism, and theft, according to the INTERPOL bulletin.
