Sun-dried tomato production in Malatya, Türkiye
In Malatya, Türkiye, workers salt tomatoes laid out to dry under the sun on September 28, 2026. The dried tomato production, launched to diversify agricultural output and add value to the local economy, is becoming increasingly widespread. Tomatoes grown in the Akcadag district are harvested in the early morning hours during the final days of summer, then washed, sliced and left to dry naturally under the sun before being shipped across Türkiye.
