Diplomatic push on Iran
Erdogan told Trump that making maximum use of diplomacy amid the current tensions is "important," expressing hope that negotiations will continue without interruption. He affirmed that Ankara will maintain its support for peace efforts aimed at de-escalating the conflict, the statement said.
Regional security pact
The Turkish president highlighted the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement signed earlier this month between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a significant step toward ensuring stability. He told Trump that the trilateral pact demonstrates a strong stance in safeguarding regional security, according to the directorate.
Gaza reconstruction concerns
Erdogan told Trump that Israeli government actions targeting Palestinians have increased at a time when the peace process should be advancing to its second phase. "Türkiye will continue to support lasting peace in the region and steps to be taken for the reconstruction of Gaza," he said.
