Toyota suspends production in Turkey plants for 15 days

Toyota Motor Corporation said in a statement that it will stop production in its Turkey plants for maintenance.

The company said the process of repair, maintenance, revision and preparation for new projects started on May 27 and will continue until June 12 at the Toyota Automotive Industry facilities located in Sakarya.

It also said a majority of its employees could use their annual vacation time during this period.

After the maintenance, the company will continue its normal production, the statement said.

Toyota's Sakarya plant built 32,481 vehicles in the first quarter of 2016 and exported 21,471 vehicles.
