Israel is the "cause," and everything else is the "consequence"

Everyone knows that support for Israel among Americans is at rock bottom. On the other hand, it is a fact that the "Israel Lobby's" ability to shape public opinion is waning day by day. Likewise, the American media, which has long been an expert at whitewashing and covering for Israel, is, so to speak, bursting at the seams and has lost its credibility. The bright days for Israel are behind it.

In the youth bases of both wings of American politics, there is an irreversibly fierce backlash against the political influence of the Israel Lobby and billionaire Zionist donors. The established, centrist, pro-Israel leaderships of both parties are no longer as skillful as they used to be in repelling or weathering these grassroots reactions. Even politicians who passionately advocate for unconditional support for Israel feel the need to act with restraint in the face of public opinion.

The Israel Lobby, along with affiliated mainstream media outlets and the cinema industry, has long demonstrated considerable success in embedding Israel's official historical narrative into the minds of the American people. American media has always relayed what was happening in the Middle East to Americans through the Israeli lens. Even though the opposite was true, Palestinians were the 'bad guys' in this narrative, oppressing Jews and usurping their land. Americans learned much later that Palestinians had lived on these lands for thousands of years and that their lands were occupied by Zionists.

Both Zionism and Christian Zionism in America were a British invention. Zionism and Christian Zionism were brought to America in the 19th century by preachers who deviated from mainstream Protestantism in England. Christian Zionism is a movement that grew after the establishment of Israel. Zionists found their most bigoted supporters in Christian Zionists.

When Israel was established in 1947, the narrative in the Western world was that Palestine was a "land without a people" and the Jews were a "people without a land." According to this narrative, the Jews were performing a miracle by turning the land of Palestine, which was merely a desert, green. This was a huge lie. This narrative was fed by the lie that Western civilization was founded on so-called 'Judeo-Christian values' and that Israel was part of that civilization. The "two-state solution," meanwhile, remained a policy constantly evaded by the US and the West.

The British were also the architects of the policy of "Israel's military superiority in the region." This policy was transferred to America after the 1950s. With the collapse of the British Empire, the British played a role in steering the rising power of America toward the protection of Israel.

America was a result of colonial settlement policies. Therefore, "Zionism" was not foreign to American political elites. This familiarity lies at the root of the US's unconditional support for Israel. During the "Cold War" period, the US-Israel relationship would be taken to much further dimensions.

The film "Exodus," released in 1960 and starring famous actor Paul Newman, was a typical example of the identification between Jews and White Europeans. Blonde, blue-eyed Newman was cast in the lead role as a chosen character for how the establishment of Israel should be perceived by Americans. In the film, the protagonist played by Newman was portrayed as a hero bringing civilization to the Middle East.

Yet the Jew in Western memory was very different from the Zionist Jew shown in this film. Remember the massacres of Jews in the Rhine basin during the Crusades, or the events in Spain in the late 15th century, and then the Western Nazis. The forcible establishment of Israel was an act of "washing their hands and clearing themselves" for the West. They did this by sticking the Palestinians with the bill.

It was inevitable that Western-backed Zionism would turn into an ideology of genocide. The whole world saw that those who turned the lands where Palestinians live, starting with Gaza, into a desert with American bombs were the "Zionist Fascists" who thrived thanks to the West's hypocritical policies. The world now knows that Israel is the source of the wars and instability in the region.

Without the liberation of the Palestinians, achieving peace and tranquility in the region is impossible. It is the Westerners who brought and settled genocidal fascist Zionism into this region and nourished it. At this point, Israel has become an unbearably heavy burden on the backs of the US and the West. If the Westerners do not remove this burden from their backs, they cannot wash their hands of the genocide of the Palestinians.
