The BIST 100 index opened at 14,010.38 points on Wednesday, gaining 36.25 points or 0.26% from the previous close, according to Borsa Istanbul figures. The uptick came as market participants assessed currency movements and global commodity prices at the midweek session.

On Tuesday, the benchmark index had closed at 13,974.14 points following a 0.69% decline that erased earlier gains. Daily transaction volume reached 193 billion liras, equivalent to approximately $4.1 billion based on prevailing exchange rates, as institutional investors adjusted positions following the retreat.
Exchange rates and commodities
The lira stood at 47.2180 against the US dollar at 10:15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), while trading at 53.9170 to the euro and 63.2340 to the British pound. An ounce of gold fetched $4,116.50 on international markets, and Brent crude oil futures were changing hands at $93.25 per barrel.
