Turkish man, age 111, is happy with 107 grandchildren

Zübeyir Bakır, who lives in Turkey's eastern province of Muş, says he is living a happy life with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The 111-year-old grandfather said he has seven children, 107 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

After death of his wife, Nazire Hanım, a couple of years ago, Bakır decided to spend the rest of his life with his children and grandchildren.

“My wife passed away when she was 90 years old. For 76 years we lived together. But we did not hurt each other and we were happy," the grandpa said.

Bakır said his oldest child is 70 years of age and the youngest is 50.

His son, Abdulmelik Bakır, said his father does not have any major illness, just minor hearing problems. “My father can meet all of his needs by himself," he said. “Sometimes he gathers all of us and shares his memories," Abdulmelik added.
