USD/yuan parity sees over 7 level, highest since July 2020

The Chinese yuan on Friday hit its lowest level in two years, reaching a level of 0.14 against the US dollar.

On Friday, the US dollar / Chinese yuan parity saw over the 7 level for the first time since July 2020.

It was at 6.45 a year ago, 6.4 at the beginning of this year, and 6.9 at the beginning of this month.

China's central bank on Thursday decided to keep its policy interest rate at 2.75%.
