Türkiye extends condolences to Algeria over deadly wildfires

Turkish Foreign Ministry on Friday extended condolences to Algeria following deadly wildfires that claimed at least 12 lives in the northeastern provinces of Jijel, Bejaia and Tizi Ouzou.

In a written statement, the ministry expressed deep sadness over the fatalities. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives caused by the wildfires that swept through several provinces in Algeria," the ministry said, extending sympathies to the victims' families and the Algerian people.

National mourning declared

"We wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the wildfires, and extend our condolences to their families and to the people of Algeria," the statement read, as Algerian authorities reported at least 12 dead and dozens injured across the three provinces.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday declared three days of national mourning to honor the victims of the disaster. The fires have caused significant damage in the affected regions, according to local officials.
