A total of 2,975 Israelis have been injured and taken to hospitals since the war with Iran began on Feb. 28, Israel's Health Ministry announced Friday. Of those, 85 remain hospitalized including nine in serious condition, as the US-Israeli conflict with Tehran continues into its third week.

A total of 2,975 Israelis have been injured and taken to hospitals since the war with Iran began on Feb. 28, Israel's Health Ministry announced Friday on social media platform X. Of those, 85 remain hospitalized, including nine in serious condition, as the conflict enters its 15th day with no signs of abating.

Mounting toll

The latest figures show the continuing human cost of Iran's retaliatory campaign, which has involved approximately 3,200 missile and UAV attacks targeting Israeli cities and US assets in the region. Israel has imposed strict censorship on casualty reporting, suggesting the actual toll may be higher than officially released figures indicate.

Damage claims

Earlier this week, Israeli media reported that the Tax Authority has received 10,314 claims for damages caused by Iranian missiles and drones, with Tel Aviv accounting for 5,300 claims. Of those, 7,250 were for building damage, 1,130 for contents and equipment, and 1,770 for vehicles, revealing extensive material destruction across Israeli cities.

Conflict context

Regional escalation has flared since Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28, killing around 1,300 people according to Iranian authorities, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and more than 150 schoolgirls in a Minab school attack. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. The exchange has caused widespread destruction on both sides, with over 9,000 targets struck in Iran according to Tehran officials.
