Casualties include hundreds of women and children

Upcoming Lebanon-Israel talks in Washington
On Friday evening, the Lebanese presidency announced that Beirut and Tel Aviv have agreed to hold their first direct meeting on April 14 at the US State Department in Washington, DC. The session aims to secure a ceasefire and initiate formal negotiations. The expected talks coincide with rare US-Iran discussions hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad, following a two-week ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. Trump noted that Tehran had submitted a “workable” 10-point proposal for negotiations.
