Cutting-edge products from Türkiye’s defense industry are being showcased for the first time at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul, including long-range hypersonic missiles and the country’s first indigenously designed attack boat.

Now in its 17th edition, the six-day IDEF 2025 fair opened on Tuesday. The event, organized by KFA Fairs with support from Türkiye's Defense Industries Secretariat and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, has Anadolu as its global communications partner.

Leading Turkish defense industry firms are making their mark at IDEF 2025 with products they are exhibiting for the first time.

New products by Roketsan, Türkiye's leading company in the field of rocket, missile, and ammunition technologies, were among the most popular products at the event.

Among the six new systems that the company is showcasing for the first time at IDEF, the Tayfun Block-4 hypersonic ballistic missile has attracted great interest. The missile, which reaches hypersonic speeds, is 10 meters (33 feet) long and weighs 7,200 kilograms (15, 873 pounds).

The company also unveiled the Akata capsule Atmaca, Gokbora beyond visual range air-to-air missile, Eren multirole loitering munition, 300 ER ballistic missile system, and Simsek-2 satellite launch vehicle for the first time at IDEF.

Turkish defense firm STM showcased a model of Türkiye’s first indigenously designed Fast Attack Craft (FAC) for the first time at the IDEF.

The firm said the national FAC has been designed to meet the modern operational needs of the Turkish Naval Forces.

The national fast attack craft will be deployed in surface warfare missions, in waiting and concealment positions, making it difficult for the enemy to detect and identify it.

FNNS Defense Systems also exhibited the Pars Izci 8x8 Armored Combat Vehicle, which led the parade and became the first 8x8 armored combat vehicle to enter the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces.

The vehicle offers tactical advantages to its users with its special design for reconnaissance and internal security operations and its high situational awareness feature.

BMC, a leading manufacturer of important land vehicles for the defense industry, also unveiled three new vehicles for the first time at IDEF.

BMC introduced the Turan 4x4 armored cargo and personnel carrier, Zeybek 8x8 armored recovery vehicle, Zeybek 8x8 armored tank carrier vehicle, Zeybek 4x4 five-ton tactical wheeled vehicle and Altug 8x8 armored combat vehicle and armored personnel carrier.

During the fair, Havelsan also showcased a wide range of products and services, including multi-domain command and control architectures, AI-supported decision support systems, manned-unmanned teams, and hybrid operational frameworks.

The 12.7x99 mm domestically produced heavy machine gun developed by Repkon was exhibited for the first time at IDEF.

Karel Defense Technologies aims to address future security and communication needs with three new-generation solutions: 5G private mobile networks, in-vehicle communication gateways, and operational headset system MOBAT.

The innovative defense solution resulting from the integration of the Alka Directed Energy Weapon System developed by Roketsan and the Kaplan Hybrid Vehicle produced by FNSS was showcased for the first time at IDEF 2025.
