Muslims must unite: Islamic NATO to be established

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has once again exposed the fragmentation within the Islamic world. To ensure peace and security across Muslim regions, unity of strength has become essential. The establishment of a military alliance similar to NATO among Islamic countries has turned into an urgent and unavoidable need. It is time to set aside political and economic differences, unite around shared values, and fulfil a historic responsibility.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has carried out attacks on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 64,803 people and injuring 164,264.
Following Israel’s attacks on six different countries within the past week, an Extraordinary Joint Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League was held in Qatar. The summit emphasized the necessity to resist new attempts to impose faits accomplis and to counter these aggressively.
The ongoing massive massacres in Gaza deeply wound the conscience of all humanity, while the disunity in the Islamic world has reached an intolerable level.
Today, Islamic countries remain fragmented and passive, confined to the role of mere spectators.
The Ummah of Muhammad believes that unity, expressed through a single voice and consolidated strength, can prevent such atrocities.
Setting aside political and economic divisions and uniting around common values is imperative.
The reality that “there is no welfare without unity” is once again evident in Gaza.
The fragmentation of nearly 2 billion Muslims has led to their submission to the pressure of a few countries.
It is clear how NATO and similar military alliances provide deterrence. The Islamic world must establish its own defense and peace force.
This structure should not only be military but should also consolidate strength diplomatically, economically, and in humanitarian fields.
If Islamic countries fail to take this step, the massacres will continue, and Muslims will remain isolated and defenseless everywhere. Once unity is achieved, no oppressive power will dare to attack innocent people easily.
History demonstrates that divided nations perish; those who unite endure.
The blood flowing in Gaza today is not just the blood of Gaza but of the entire Islamic world.
Enough with words; decisive action is now required.
The Islamic world must fulfill its historical responsibility by establishing an “Islamic NATO.”
This is both a religious duty and a humanitarian obligation.
