Hezbollah: Iran strikes aimed to uphold Lebanon ceasefire

Hezbollah said on Tuesday that Iranian missile strikes against Israel were intended to pressure Tel Aviv into abiding by the Lebanon ceasefire agreement, describing the attack as a message of moral and political commitment toward Beirut that coincided with support from Yemen's Houthi group as part of joint efforts to deter Israel.
Hezbollah issued its first formal reaction to the exchange of missile fire between Iran and Israel on Tuesday, stating that the Iranian barrage was designed to pressure Tel Aviv into compliance with the Lebanon ceasefire deal. The Lebanese group characterized the Iranian response as a demonstration of moral solidarity, political backing and operational commitment toward Beirut, noting that the strikes coincided with military pressure from Yemen's Houthi movement as part of coordinated efforts to deter Israeli aggression.
Criticism of Lebanese official stances
The organization also criticized specific official positions adopted by Lebanese authorities regarding Iran, stating that such stances fail to serve Lebanese national interests. Hezbollah emphasized that Tehran's intervention confirms Iran's standing alongside the Lebanese people, adding that sustained regional resistance remains essential to compelling Israeli adherence to the terms of the truce agreement.
Demands for withdrawal and reconstruction
Hezbollah identified the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese soil, the safe return of displaced populations and the rebuilding of war-torn areas as central priorities for the nation. "These matters constitute the core of our national agenda," the group said, underscoring that pressure on Israel must continue until all ceasefire conditions are fully implemented.
