Iran launches new missile attacks on Israel, Jerusalem area hit

Iran launch retaliatory missile attacks targeting Israel and U.S. positions in the region, as missiles fired from Iran were intercepted by Israeli defense systems over the skies of Jerusalem on March 10, 2026.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced a new wave of strategic missile strikes against Israeli and US targets Tuesday evening as part of "True Promise 4" operation. Israeli media reported that one projectile landed near Jerusalem, triggering air raid sirens across central Israel and the coastal plain as regional hostilities continue to intensify.

Iran launched fresh missile barrages toward Israeli territory on Tuesday evening, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirming the strikes as part of an ongoing campaign against what it described as Israeli and American assets in the region. Israeli media outlets reported that at least one Iranian missile landed in the vicinity of Beit Shemesh, located west of Jerusalem, sending residents rushing to shelters as air raid sirens wailed across multiple districts.

The IRGC's public relations unit issued a statement detailing the operation, identified as the 35th wave of its "True Promise 4" campaign, involving multiple strategic missile systems including Fattah, Emad, Kheibar Shekan, Khorramshahr and Qadr projectiles. The strikes represent Tehran's latest response to the joint US-Israeli military offensive that began on Feb. 28, which has thus far claimed more than 1,200 lives and injured approximately 10,000 people across the region.

Missile lands near Jerusalem

According to Israel Hayom daily, the projectile that struck near Beit Shemesh landed in an unpopulated area, causing no immediate casualties. Nevertheless, the incident triggered widespread alarm, with sirens sounding across the Jerusalem region and Israel's coastal plain following detection of incoming missiles. The Israel Police announced that its forces, along with border police and bomb disposal units, were conducting extensive searches throughout the Jerusalem district to locate debris and unexploded projectiles. Simultaneously, sirens were also activated in the Haifa region of northern Israel following separate rocket launches from Lebanese territory.

Regional conflict expands

Tuesday's missile attacks mark a significant escalation in the widening regional confrontation, which has seen Iran launch retaliatory drone and missile strikes not only against Israel but also targeting Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. Israel has simultaneously expanded its military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, opening multiple fronts in the conflict. Türkiye continues to closely monitor these developments as the instability threatens to further destabilize the Middle East, potentially drawing in neighboring countries and disrupting critical energy supplies that flow through the region.
