Russian general shot in Moscow, assailant flees scene

A high-ranking Russian general was shot in Moscow on Friday by an unidentified individual who then fled the scene, the country's Investigative Committee announced. Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko stated that several shots were fired at Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev at a residential building in the northwestern part of the capital.
