At least 20 Palestinians were injured on Saturday by Israeli army fire, settler assaults and tear gas across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian medical officials and local authorities who documented the violence as part of an ongoing escalation in the territory.
Shootings near Jerusalem separation wall
The Jerusalem Governorate said three Palestinians were shot by Israeli forces while attempting to enter occupied East Jerusalem near the separation wall in Al-Ram, north of the city. Palestinians, mostly workers seeking employment, have been injured near the wall on an almost daily basis since Israel barred them from returning to their jobs following its October 2023 assault on Gaza, prompting some to scale the barrier despite the risks.
Settler attacks and military raids
The Palestine Red Crescent Society transported two young Palestinians to hospital after Israeli settlers beat them in Arraba, south of Jenin, while a 15-year-old boy was hospitalized after being severely beaten in Tammun in the northern Tubas province. Its teams also treated 11 Palestinians for tear gas inhalation during military raids in Tubas and Tayasir — including four children at the scene — and two more Palestinians suffered tear gas inhalation during confrontations on the outskirts of Arraba, southwest of Jenin.
Hebron violence and home raids
In the southern Hebron province, armed settlers beat elderly resident Said al-Amour in the village of Al-Rakiz in Masafer Yatta, causing injuries and bruises, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa. Israeli forces later raided al-Amour’s home, searched the property, damaged contents and confiscated family members’ mobile phones, according to Wafa. Forces also raided Beit Fajjar south of Bethlehem, Al-Bireh and Al-Mughayyir north of Ramallah, firing tear gas in Al-Mughayyir though no injuries were reported there. The West Bank has witnessed a sharp escalation in Israeli military offensives and settler attacks since the Gaza war began in October 2023, alongside expanding illegal settlement outposts and tighter restrictions on Palestinian movement.
