The US sends reinforcement to Syria from Iraq under the pretext of preventing oil fields from being taken over by Daesh terrorists

The United States administration continues to reinforce its military bases and positions located near oil fields in Syria, which are currently under the occupation of the YPG/PKK terror group, in a move to strenghten its presence in the region under the pretext of thwarting Daesh.

The latest delivery was sent on Saturday night to the oil-rich Syrian provinces of al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor through the al-Waleed border crossing at the Iraq-Syria border.

According to local sources of Anadolu Agency in Deir ez-Zor, a logistics convoy containing 4x4 pickups, ambulances, minibuses and fuel-laden trucks passed from the border.

The number of trucks that the U.S. dispatched to the oil-rich areas has reached 600 in the last two months after Saturday's delivery, according to reports.

Earlier in October, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said that the U.S will strengthen its military presence in Syria with “mechanized forces” to prevent Daesh terrorists seizing oil fields and revenue.

Ankara has repeatedly called its NATO allies to suppport Turkey in the fight against terrorism.

Turkish President Erdogan said Sunday that Turkey's goal with its anti-terrorism operation in northern Syria was to maintain peace for Syrians, not to "seize its oil".

On Oct. 9, Turkey launched Operation Peace Spring to eliminate terrorists from northern Syria, east of the Euphrates River in order to secure Turkey’s borders, aid in the safe return of Syrian refugees, and ensure Syria’s territorial integrity.

"Neither the U.S. nor Russia could eliminate YPG/PKK terrorists there [from northern Syria] as they promised. So we have to do it," Erdoğan added.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the Syrian offshoot of the PKK.
