"We have already prepared our part of the homework ahead of the meeting with President Trump – both the military component and the economic one. Every detail, everything is ready. The agenda of our meeting with the president of the United States is very substantive," Zelenskyy stated. The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude to those involved in the preparations and emphasized the potential global impact of US leadership in resolving the conflict that has continued for nearly four years.
Delegation Advance Work in Washington
A high-level Ukrainian delegation has already arrived in Washington to lay the groundwork for the presidential meeting. The group includes the prime minister, the head of the presidential office, and other senior officials who are conducting preliminary discussions with US defense and energy corporations. This advance team aims to ensure that the Zelenskyy-Trump talks yield concrete outcomes across multiple sectors critical to Ukraine's war effort and economic stability.
International Weapons Procurement and Support
Beyond bilateral cooperation with the United States, Ukraine is advancing its Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative with partners across Central, Southern and Northern Europe to facilitate joint procurement of American weapons. Zelenskyy also acknowledged recent international support, thanking the United Kingdom for imposing new sanctions on Russia's largest oil companies and expressing appreciation for Greece's continued assistance following his discussion with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
