Türkiye's high-tech manufacturing output exceeds $28B

The Turkish Statistical Institute reported on Monday that Türkiye's high-tech manufacturing production value surpassed 1 trillion Turkish lira ($28 billion) in 2025, with 479,164 enterprises operating across the manufacturing sector according to official data released in Ankara.

Enterprise landscape

Among the total manufacturing enterprises, 60,161 were classified as medium-high technology firms while 4,070 qualified as high-tech manufacturers, TurkStat noted. The number of high-tech enterprises has surged 40% over the past five years, climbing from 2,892 in 2021 to 4,070 last year. Employment figures also rose steadily during this period, increasing from 119,326 workers to 142,779 across these specialized firms.

Revenue thresholds

The production value crossed the 1 trillion lira mark for the first time in 2025, while collective revenues also exceeded that level. The institute noted the $28 billion equivalent reflects an annual average exchange rate of 35.5 Turkish lira to the US dollar. Medium-high and high-tech manufacturers have steadily expanded their footprint as Ankara continues diversifying the national economy beyond traditional industrial sectors.
