Türkiye's annual inflation rate is expected to ease to 31.52% in August, declining from 31.75% recorded the previous month, according to an Anadolu Agency survey released Monday. The poll of 20 economists indicated that consumer prices will continue moderating amid ongoing disinflationary trends. The Turkish Statistical Institute is scheduled to release official August inflation figures on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Monthly price index
The survey showed that the consumer price index (CPI) is forecast to rise 1.86% month-on-month in August, accelerating slightly from the 1.78% increase registered in July. Individual estimates among the economists ranged from 1.25% to 2.10%, reflecting varied expectations regarding price pressures during the month.
Year-end outlook
Economists participating in the survey projected that annual inflation will stand at 29.49% by the end of 2026, suggesting a gradual cooling path over the medium term. The forecasts indicate continued confidence in the disinflation process despite persistent volatility in global commodity markets and exchange rate movements.
