McLaren's Lando Norris converted pole position into a commanding victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix, securing his first win of the season. Max Verstappen finished second, with Kimi Antonelli completing the podium.
McLaren's Lando Norris claimed victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his first win of the Formula 1 season. The British driver started from pole position and completed 70 laps of the Hungaroring Circuit in 1 hour, 39 minutes and 56.180 seconds, marking his 12th career win.
Podium and Retirements
Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished second, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes completed the podium in third. Norris' teammate Oscar Piastri led much of the first half but retired from second place on lap 56 due to a gearbox failure. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished fourth, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who received a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane.
Championship Standings
Antonelli leads the drivers' standings with 219 points, followed by Hamilton with 169 and George Russell with 160. Mercedes tops the Constructors' Championship with 379 points, ahead of Ferrari and McLaren. The season resumes after the summer break with the Dutch Grand Prix on August 23.
