President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has congratulated Türkiye's women's national volleyball team after they defeated Brazil 3-1 in the Volleyball Nations League final to win the title for the second time. "I wholeheartedly congratulate our women's national volleyball team, which made all of Türkiye proud," Erdoğan said in a post on his NSosyal account.
Personal Call and Tribute
In a separate phone call, Erdoğan congratulated everyone who contributed to the team's success, particularly the players and coaching staff. The victory came in the final played at the East Asian Games Dome in Macau, where Türkiye overcame world No. 2 Brazil with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 26-24 and 25-21.
Historic Achievement
Türkiye secured their second VNL title following their 2023 triumph, cementing their place among the tournament's most successful teams. The win also avenged their bronze-medal loss to Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
