Gaza's Health Ministry said Saturday that nine Palestinians have been killed over the past 48 hours, raising the death toll from Israel's genocidal war to 73,449 as the Israeli military continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that took effect in October, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.

Gaza's Health Ministry on Saturday reported that nine Palestinians have been killed over the past 48 hours, bringing the total death toll from Israel's genocidal war to 73,449 as the Israeli military continues to breach the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10. In its daily statistical report, the ministry said hospitals received nine bodies alongside another set of remains recovered from the rubble, while 18 people sustained injuries during the same period.

The ministry noted that a number of victims remain trapped beneath debris and on roads, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to ongoing hostilities.

Ceasefire violations

The ministry stated that the toll from Israeli violations since the October 10 ceasefire took effect has risen to 1,313 killed and 4,361 injured. The overall casualty figures since the war began on October 8, 2023, now stand at 73,449 dead and 174,472 wounded, according to the latest figures.

Infrastructure collapse

The ministry added that most of the victims are women and children. Israel has destroyed approximately 90 percent of the Gaza Strip's civilian infrastructure, while United Nations estimates place reconstruction costs at roughly $70 billion.
