The Health Ministry in Gaza said Sunday that Israeli fire killed seven more Palestinians over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll from the ongoing genocide to 73,356, while the UN estimates reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion following widespread infrastructure destruction.
Rising death toll
The Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Sunday that seven more Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll from the ongoing genocide to 73,356, according to an official statement. Hospitals across the enclave received six bodies during the reporting period, including one individual who died from previous wounds.
Medical facilities admitted 23 injured people in the same timeframe, pushing the total injury count to 174,185 since the conflict began, the ministry added.
Ceasefire violations
Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli forces have continued daily attacks throughout the territory. At least 1,230 Palestinians have been killed and 4,076 injured since the truce began, with the ministry reporting Saturday that 152 people died during July alone — the highest monthly toll recorded this year.
Infrastructure devastation
The ceasefire followed two years of genocide launched by Israel on Oct. 8, 2023, which has devastated approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure across Gaza. The United Nations has estimated reconstruction costs at around $70 billion, while diplomatic efforts to secure lasting peace have stalled amid continued military operations.
